Zmee prize knowledge above almost everything else. In the knowledge and therefore status hierarchy, Oracles occupy the highest positions of learning and government among the Zmee and enjoy almost regal status.
Each Oracle is expected to take live-in apprentices called Disciples and help train them to become Venerables (after six years) or Oracles (after 12 years).
